GCSA LACROSSE CAMP
Lacrosse Camp @ Gold Coast Sports Academy allows athletes of all levels to further their passion for this lifetime sport. Our coaches understand the range of needs from beginners to tournament level players and tailor instruction accordingly. All players will be evaluated to determine where focus will be placed to attain maximum results.
CURRICULUM – SUMMARY LACROSSE
Athletes will be introduced to the rules of the game as well as some of the basics which include; footwork, hand-eye coordination, conditioning, stick skills, dodging, and body positioning. The drills the athletes will be doing will reinforce all of these basic skills and techniques to help our athletes get a better overall understanding of the game.
Athletes will perform more complex footwork and conditioning drills designed specifically for the game. They will also continue to develop the basic skills of Lacrosse through different game-like drills such as, 1v1 dodging, 1v1 defense, shooting drills, and proper positioning drills.
The athletes will participate in high-intensity conditioning. Focus will be on more game-like situations such as shooting on the run, full team drills (team defense, team offense), as well as drills specific to the athletes position. Athletes will partake in 6v6 scrimmages as well as full field scrimmages in order to help them establish better field vision while also improving on their knowledge of the game itself.
