GCSA Flag Football Camp provides athletes with a full week of skill development and game play. In addition, the importance of teamwork and team-building exercises will be incorporated into every day’s activities. Key skills, such as those outlined below, have been delineated to allow our athletes to achieve their full potential in a short time.


Athletes will be introduced to basic football skills including running, passing, receiving, and blocking.  Offensive and defensive footwork fundamentals will also be introduced.  Athletes will learn the rules of the game in preparation for structured game play.


Athletes will be introduced to the specific positions that exist during gameplay.  Skills specific to these positions will be introduced and developed.  Proper running technique and ball carrying will be emphasized along with route running, receiving, and blocking.  Punting and kicking will be introduced at these level of play to provide the full football experience.  Athletes will be challenged to increase their cardiovascular conditioning and be provided an option for strength training.


Athletes will be separated to focus on advanced training in their specific positions of interest.  Accurate passing, along with distance, will be developed in this level of play.  High level route running and receiving will be coupled with this component of football skill development.  All athletes will experience strength training and conditioning exercises to properly prepare them for the next level of play.  Proper “heads-up” blocking will be a major focus to ensure fundamental techniques are in place for when athletes move on to a full-contact football program.
